James was head of the litigation, employment and sports & entertainment groups at boutique Sydney law firm
Surry Partners where he
worked from 1997 to 2005.
Thereafter James joined
Spring Law as a dual qualified lawyer heading up the commercial group.
James has a particular interest
in the brands, creative and
sports sectors, where he has developed expertise acting on both commercial and contentious matters for a wide range of clients including advertising agencies, sports management, marketing, event promotion, technology, licensing, entertainment and media businesses.
James also has extensive experience in commercial litigation, advising on commercial contract, employment, intellectual property, sport, construction, company law, insolvency
and bankruptcy matters.
In addition, James regularly advises employers, employees and contractors on employment related issues and acts on employment disputes before numerous courts, commissions and tribunals.
