With more than 15 years experience as a partner with City law firms, John left Eversheds LLP, where he was a partner, in 2006 to work more closely with clients as a non-executive director and General Counsel, giving advice on financing and business issues as well as legal matters.

John has worked as external legal adviser to many UK and international corporations. He has advised on transactions and disputes internationally and in the UK with and for global names, including Microsoft, Scania, Baxter Healthcare, a leading German bank, IBM, BT, London Stock Exchange, Prudential, Accenture and China International Trust Investment Company. 

His experience in legal matters spans the range of issues encountered by growth businesses, high-value intellectual property owners and major users of enterprise systems and outsourced services; from the protection and licensing of key assets to fund raising and dispute resolution. In addition to legal issues, clients frequently seek his advice on structuring and strategic issues in projects and ventures. 

John is a freeman of the City of London with the livery company for information technologists and has fluency in French, which he has applied at business level in deal-making.

At Spring Law John is advising clients on intellectual property and commercial disputes.
